Many constituents who live close to the Enfield Street/ Ormskirk Road junction have been concerned about the railings being repeatedly damaged through lorries turning left.
After the railings were taken away, I arranged a meeting with the Traffic Department so that residents could voice their concerns about the safety of pedestrians on the pavement and those crossing the road.
I am pleased to report that all the damaged railings have now been replaced. They are now set further back to hopefully prevent this from happening again.
A big thank you to local resident, Jack Whatton, for taking part in the meeting. Thank you also to Traffic and Highways. It's a job well done!
- Cllr. Pat Draper, getting the job done!
