High Sheriff of Greater Manchester Visits Pemberton Old Wigan Brass Band

💜 This morning, it was an honour to be invited to Pemberton Old Wigan DW Band to see the Youth Band practising.
👑 We were joined by Mary-Liz Walker, who is the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester (representative of King Charles in the county).
🙏 The High Sheriff visits many voluntary organisations across Greater Manchester to say thank you for their work and commitment to the community.
🎼 Mary-Liz was very impressed by the Youth Band’s performance, as well as conductor John Don-Ducan for all he does in helping them.
👏 We would like to say a huge thank you to George, Ben, Vicky and all the fantastic people who run this great organisation! The band can traced right back to the 1870s when pit collieries proliferated the area. It’s great to see the preservation of our local heritage in such good hands.
