"Our Town" Waste Amnesty Week Arrives in Douglas Ward!

☔️ A slightly wet start to the day, but great to be at The Meadows Family Hub to kick off Douglas Ward’s Waste Amnesty Week as part of the Our Town programme.
🧡 We met up with Jonathan from Streetscene, David from Highways, and local Neighbourhood Manager Jo, to discuss the range of planned works taking place over the week ahead.
🚮 We then popped down to the Waste Amnesty skip at Newtown Working Men’s Club to see local residents making good use of it. Thank you to Dan & Ben from Streetscene for manning operations in the rain!
‼️ Don’t forget - there are two more skip days taking place: at Worsley Hall shops on Wednesday and in Wigan Pier Quarter (Trencherfield Mill) on Friday, both from 9am - 2pm.
💚 If you can’t make any of these times, please remember that you can also book 2 FREE bulky waste collections of up to five items in a 12 month period, through the Council. To do so, please visit https://www.wigan.gov.uk/BulkyCollections.
