"Our Town" Waste Amnesty Week Arrives in Douglas Ward!
A slightly wet start to the day, but great to be at The Meadows Family Hub to kick off Douglas Ward’s Waste Amnesty Week as part of the Our Town programme.
We met up with Jonathan from Streetscene, David from Highways, and local Neighbourhood Manager Jo, to discuss the range of planned works taking place over the week ahead.
We then popped down to the Waste Amnesty skip at Newtown Working Men’s Club to see local residents making good use of it. Thank you to Dan & Ben from Streetscene for manning operations in the rain!
Don’t forget - there are two more skip days taking place: at Worsley Hall shops on Wednesday and in Wigan Pier Quarter (Trencherfield Mill) on Friday, both from 9am - 2pm.
If you can’t make any of these times, please remember that you can also book 2 FREE bulky waste collections of up to five items in a 12 month period, through the Council. To do so, please visit https://www.wigan.gov.uk/BulkyCollections.
