At Trencherfield Mill to Discuss the Future of the Mill Engine and Wider Site
Very interesting meeting this morning at Trencherfield Mill, discussing future plans for the re-opening of the Mill Engine to the public and re-use of the wider building.
Full details are expected to be finalised and published in the coming months, but we are hoping that the Mill Engine and the rest of the site will be full steam ahead before too long!
Special thanks go to Peter, Neil and Ben from Wigan Council’s Culture, Arts & Heritage Team, who led the meeting and have been working hard behind the scenes to revive this part of Wigan Pier Quarter. Thanks also to members of Trencherfield Mill Residents’ Association, local heritage volunteers, and Cllr Eunice Smethurst (Chair of Confident Council Committee) for joining us.
