Paying Respects at Our Annual Remembrance Service

This morning, we attended our annual Douglas Ward Remembrance Service, held at Alexandra Park Bowling Green. The service was led by Rev Alison Brown and Emma from St James’ Church and was very poignant.
Thank you to everyone who came to pay their respects to the fallen. We honour all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in both World Wars, and in all conflicts before and since.
We want to thank the children and teachers from St Mark’s Primary School who laid their own wreaths and read out prayers. A huge thank you also to Carina who played the Last Post, Dean who played the bagpipes, and to Kevin and John who worked hard to prepare the Bowling Green.
After the service, we attended St Mark’s Hub Café for soup, cake and refreshments, served by our marvellous volunteers there.
